Alyssa Amaral

Alyssa is an English teacher at Fusion Greenwich. She is originally from Boston but graduated with an MA in English from the University of Connecticut. While at UConn, Alyssa was able to teach for the First-Year Writing program, where she taught classes on science fiction, the apocalypse, and the writing process. Alyssa has a not-so-secret love for Edgar Allan Poe, Herman Melville, and Emily Dickinson, but loves anything and everything literature and writing. Thanks to some awesome student recommendations, Alyssa has recently even began to dabble in the genre of graphic novels and contemporary novels. Her door is always open, and she is always looking for more book and film recommendations. She is very excited to be part of the Fusion team!

In her free time, Alyssa enjoys hiking, traveling, cooking, playing the piano, and, of course, reading.
