Alexandra Vaccaro is the Post-Secondary Counselor for Fusion Englewood. Alexandra is a Licensed Associate Counselor in the State of New Jersey. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Counseling and Human Services from the University of Scranton and her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Felician University.
Throughout her studies and preparation Alexandra has worked with adolescents and adults in supported employment programs in which she helped with resume writing, interview skills, applying for jobs and providing support during employment. Alexandra also worked for the program Homeward Bound through Care Plus NJ in which she provided psycho-education to adolescents in life skills, empowerment, setting goals for life after high school and learning how to integrate the essential tools and resources required to successfully transition into the community as independent, self-sufficient adults. Furthermore, Alexandra has provided outpatient therapy to children, adolescents, and adults, facilitating group therapy sessions. Alexandra has had the opportunity to facilitate positive change when met with various challenges, such as, adjusting to life transitions, depression, anxiety, ADHD, impulse-control deficiencies, and oppositional behaviors.
Concurrently, Alexandra obtained her 200 Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) Vinyasa yoga certification. Teaching yoga to adults and children, Alexandra was also responsible for conceptualizing and facilitating a yoga therapy group for a Socially Creative Summer Camp, where she incorporated yoga into therapy as an innovative approach at enhancing emotional health and wellness. Alexandra’s methods encourages recognizing a sense of being and seeing oneself as separate from their thoughts and moods, yielding overall improvement in their quality of life and wellbeing.
In her free time Alexandra loves to be physically active whether it is hiking, in the gym or, of course, a yoga class! Alexandra also has a passion to travel and immerse herself in different cultures and beautiful scenery the world has to offer. To date, her 3 top favorite places she has traveled to so far have been Australia, Colombia and Switzerland.
