Alaine earned her MA in English Literature from The State University of New York at Albany, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. Her Master’s Thesis on The Benefits of Personal Writing as a Teaching Tool was nominated for Outstanding Thesis. Although Alaine began college as an art major, she quickly discovered her calling to teach, through classmates who constantly sought her out for essay writing support.
Experience
Alaine had the rewarding experience of teaching for 16 years in the very upstate New York high school where her grandmother once taught English. When she relocated to Long Island in 2012, Alaine discovered the newly-opened Fusion and was blown away to have found a school so perfectly aligned with her mission as an empathic educator. As National English DH, Alaine relishes every opportunity to support newbies and veterans alike, sharing curriculum inspiration and compassionate teaching strategies, as well as guiding DHs to build cohesive, successful teams.
