Angela Bates is a native of West Virginia with a lifetime of trips to the neighboring Northern Virginia cities and Washington, D.C. She completed her undergraduate degree in Psychology with a minor in Sport and Exercise Psychology from West Virginia University. While being a member of her university’s crew team, she was introduced to the importance of mindfulness and mind body balance to achieve successful performance. Angela is grateful for the opportunity to have studied International Communication and Foundations in Music through a study abroad program in Italy. After falling in love with Italy, Angela was asked to move in with a family after graduating from college to help care for the children.
Angela’s experience working with children of all ages (from 4-104) in an educational setting has spanned over 16 years and has included swimming/athletic lessons, music lessons (saxophone, clarinet, piano, marching band, jazz band), and rehabilitative services from mental health and substance use difficulties. She believes that everyone has individual interests that can be utilized to help them discover their strength and ultimately find success and happiness.
Angela loves spending time with her husband Ken and daughter Giuliana discovering new fun places to visit and play! They love to listen and play live music and enjoy the beauty of the outdoors.
