Christopher Brown is our Humanities Department Head and teacher of English and History at Fusion Academy. After earning a Bachelor’s degree in English from Kean University, he went on to obtain a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He developed a passion for teaching when he began tutoring high school students and business professionals looking to improve their writing skills. He joined Fusion Academy Englewood in 2016, where he had the opportunity to grow as a teacher and show students the value of reading, writing, and above all, independent thought. He is now thrilled to be at the Fusion Montclair campus, where he can continue in that endeavor.
If you catch him in deep thought it’s probably because he’s ruminating over his lifelong dilemma: which does he like better, Star Trek or Star Wars? In his free time, he enjoys writing stories, as well as reading novels, history texts, and philosophy books. He likes drawing with pencil and charcoal and working out as if training for the Stotesbury Cup. He loves going on long walks at Eagle Rock Reservation with his wife, Barbara, and their Staffordshire Terrier mix, Laine. Among his friends, he is known for doing funny character voices and impressions, such as Ralph Wiggums’ quote from the Simpsons: “Me fail English? That’s unpossible!”
