Laura Quezada

Teacher/Mentor

Laura Quezada is very happy to join the Alexandria team this year! Born and raised in the Dominican Republic she recently moved back to VA after being the Sustainability Education Coordinator at a bilingual private school in the DR.

Growing up the daughter of a Botanist and a Spanish and Literature Teacher she learned to love books and nature. Laura obtained her BS in Chemical Engineering in 2007 and taught science full time in different private schools in the DR. In 2010 obtained a full scholarship and moved to Rochester, NY to attend The Rochester Institute of Technology from where she graduated with a Masters in Environmental Science in 2012.

Outside the classroom Laura enjoys taking Zumba classes, goofing around with her two daughters (3 & 8), reading a good book, learning what new things science is up to these days, and going out on date nights with her husband.
