Anna Larsen is excited to be part of the Fusion Academy Alexandria team!
She has been immersed in the field of special education since her undergraduate degree at James Madison University (Go DUKES!). She has her Master’s in Educational Psychology from George Mason University with a focus on teaching, learning, and cognition.
She comes from a private tutoring background with a focus on educational coaching for students with learning and attention challenges. She enjoys working one-on-one with students to develop rapport and provide individualized instruction for students. Her passion is working with students to self-regulate their own learning, specifically reading comprehension. Currently, she is a Doctoral Candidate at George Mason University in Special Education with a dissertation focus on teaching students with learning disabilities to use self-regulated strategy instruction to improve reading comprehension.
She is a Virginia native and currently lives in Arlington with her husband, Mike, and our adorable dog, Jax. When she isn’t working, you can find her spending time with friends and family, enjoying the outdoors, and traveling to her favorite place – Emerald Isle, NC!
