Anna is ecstatic to serve as Assistant Director at the Fusion Academy Alexandria campus! As Assistant Director Anna provides training, support, and supervision to all Fusion teachers! She works closely with the Head of School on developing plans for Fusion students including reading and writing strategy instruction, executive functioning skills, and self-regulated learning skills.
She has been immersed in the field of special education since her undergraduate degree at James Madison University (Go DUKES!). She has her Master’s in Educational Psychology from George Mason University with a focus on teaching, learning, and cognition. Currently, she is a Doctoral Candidate at George Mason University in Special Education with a dissertation focus on teaching students with learning disabilities to use self-regulated strategy instruction to improve reading comprehension. She comes from a private tutoring background with a focus on educational coaching for students with learning and attention challenges. She enjoys working one-on-one with students to develop rapport and provide individualized instruction for students. Her passion is working with students to self-regulate their own learning, specifically monitoring reading comprehension.
