A native of Bethesda Maryland, Phil is thrilled to be part of the Fusion Alexandria team where he teaches english and history.  He holds a B.A. in history from St. John’s College, Annapolis and an M.A. in teaching of literature from Teachers College, Columbia University. For two years Phil introduced student-centered education models to a South Korean public high school where he taught ethics and psychology; as the sole foreigner he learned the virtues of daily kimchi and competitive badminton. After returning stateside Phil taught humanities at the Parkmont school, D.C. and the McLean school in Potomac, MD where he directed plays, coached basketball and lead the debate team.
