Laura A. (Camp) Snow is a new and welcome addition to our team here at Fusion Academy as a science teacher. Laura offers teaching students about various topics of science in a fun and exciting way! She creates an innovating and inspirational passion for all students to want to learn. As a lead teacher she also facilitates a social interaction for all her classes.
Laura earned a Bachelor of Science’s Degree in Earth Science from Kean University, and an associate’s degree in music performance from County College of Morris where she studied the piano, guitar, and performing arts.
Laura’s studies include several trips to the Cayman Islands for a research project to collect data on Marine Debris on Turtle Nesting Beaches. This was not just a school project, it became Laura’s passion and she continued this with a research project which resulted in a presentation in San Francisco at AGU Conferences as an undergrad. This inspired many students to follow their dreams.
Laura is creative and has many things she is interested in, such as arts and crafts, but Laura doesn’t stop there! Her creative side combines her scientific side by making favors and centerpieces for special occasions out of recyclable materials, such as, taking magazines and making the pages for origami flower bouquets, using boxes and other “throw away” items by making them into art and useful tools or products. Laura loves jammin’ to all styles of music. Sometimes she hula hoop dances using her own handmade hula hoops! She loves camping and canoeing down the Delaware with her husband and puppies. Gardening (she grows a lot of her own fruits, vegetables and herbs that she uses in another favorite thing) –cooking! And for quiet time Laura loves just sitting outside enjoying nature and reading a book or throwing a Frisbee around with her dogs or taking them for long walks.
Laura believes you should treat others as you would want to be treated. And “Believe in your dreams, no matter how impossible they seem.” (Walt Disney)
