Paulina Phelps

English & History Teacher/Mentor

As English and History teacher/mentor Paulina supports students to better understand and excel in these subjects. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Skidmore College in Upstate New York where she interned as a reporter for the local NPR affiliate. Paulina has over 6 years of experience as a journalist and editor, working for companies and news publications focused on prioritizing the physical and emotional health of individuals, communities, and the world. She is passionate about teaching yoga and working with young people affected by the criminal justice system. She currently volunteers every week with local organization Yoga Behind Bars.  A Seattle-native, Paulina loves to be with friends in nature either in the mountains or on the water. She can also be found cozied up in a coffee shop reading and writing or attending lectures around the city on various social justice topics.
