Marissa Johnson

Regional Director of New Schools

Marissa began her Fusion journey in 2012 at our Mission Viejo campus as a teacher and Information Specialist.

Her favorite part of being a Fusion teacher was building relationships with her students and getting them excited about learning! Marissa eventually moved to our Los Angeles campus as the Director of Student Development where she focused on guiding students through their school experience and post-secondary options.

As Fusion grew, her excitement and passion to share what Fusion has to offer landed her in Texas as one of the first people on the ground to launch our central region. As the Regional Director of New Schools, Marissa has supported the openings of 7 Fusion campuses and has trained many of our Fusion leaders.

Marissa is a graduate from Azusa Pacific University where she earned a degree in Psychology with a concentration in counseling and an emphasis in Education.

Prior to Fusion, she has worked with AVID to prepare all students for college readiness as well assisting school counselors in Azusa public schools. Marissa has also worked with other organizations including “Girls on the Move” and “College Headed and Mighty Proud”.

Prior to working in education, Marissa was a cheer and dance coach for over 7 years and is very proud of taking her team all the way to win Nationals!

While growing up in Southern California one of her favorite things to do was enjoy s’mores and bonfires at the beach. On her free time you can find Marissa catching up on her favorite TV shows, exploring different restaurants, and traveling the world with her husband. Her latest travels include Poland, Israel and Turkey. In the future, she hopes to visit Greece and the Virgin Islands.
