Post-Secondary Counselor

As the Post-Secondary Counselor at Fusion Academy, Lauren’s primary role is to offer a unique, hands-on approach to helping students discover their own paths while they prepare for transitions of all kinds. Lauren is here to help our students with academic planning and development, college counseling, gap year planning, and much more!

Lauren earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from North Carolina State University and then went on to earn her Masters’ Degree in Counselor Education from East Carolina University.  Lauren has over six years of professional counseling experience working in Education and Mental Health serving students in middle and high school settings as a Licensed K-12 School Counselor and most recently as a School Based Therapist.  Lauren is a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and a NC Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC).  Above all, Lauren is passionate about working with youth and playing a role in their future success.

In June of 2015, Lauren followed her heart and moved to San Francisco, a place she has always wanted to call home. In her free time she enjoys exploring the city, listening to live music, snowboarding, hiking, watching sports, and traveling back to the south to visit family and friends. Fun Fact: Lauren has driven cross-country 7 times from NC to CA and back as a counselor on a 23 day teen leadership program called Teens Westward Bound.
