Charina Deausen

Department Head &  Spanish & Electives Teacher/Mentor

Charina is excited to be a part of the Fusion family in Rockville! A Montgomery County native, Charina is happy to be back home teaching right where she grew up. Charina received her B.A. in Spanish from the University of Virginia and spent her third year extensively studying the language in Valencia, Spain. She spent 2 years in Galicia, Spain after graduating to teach English and take Spanish courses at La Universidad de Vigo. She has taught MS Spanish in DC as well as tutored Spanish to a wide range of students, from elementary school to college along with adults. Charina is looking forward to helping students gain proficiency in the Spanish language as well as learn about the history and culture of various Spanish-speaking countries. In her spare time, Charina enjoys being active whether it be playing basketball, tennis, or going on a hike. She also loves to travel and has been to over 15 countries! Charina can't wait to get to know all her students at Fusion and share her passion for the Spanish language.
