In this workshop, different aspects of gender will be explored:
- How have we come to think about what’s “typical” when it comes to gender?
- How does culture influence gender development?
- What are today’s children and teens teaching us about gender?
- What do we need to know to be more supportive as parents and educators?
Come with your questions and concerns. We will share information from developmental, social and personal perspectives.

About the presenter, Elana Premak Sandler, LCSW: Elana is a public health social worker who has experience working in community-based settings on issues including suicide prevention, bullying, and healthy relationships. Elana facilitates support groups at Growing Minds Therapy to encourage conversations about difficult topics and connect people around shared experience to cultivate hope and decrease shame.
