Fusion Academy Hosts Open House to Celebrate Its New Home

(Santa Barbara, Calif. – September 13, 2022) Fusion Academy Santa Barbara welcomes area professionals and families to its first Open House this week in its new school on State Street.

“We want to show the community why Fusion is unlike any other school, and the power of the one-to-one model,” said Fusion Academy Santa Barbara Director of Outreach Gene Bivol.

Fusion Academy began enrolling students earlier this year and taught them at a nearby temporary location as construction on the new school progressed. The Open House will be held Thursday, September 15:

  • Educators, school counselors and therapeutic professionals are welcome from noon to 2:00 p.m. and are encouraged to register here
  • Families and community members are welcome to attend from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and are encouraged to register here

Along with the tours of the school, appetizers, empanadas, and refreshments will be served.

Founded in San Diego, California in 1989, Fusion Academy’s approach to learning is grounded in its one-to-one model of one teacher to one student, with different teachers for different classes. Fusion Academy Santa Barbara is the national education provider’s 64th campus and one of 19 campuses in California.

Fusion’s classrooms are intentionally small, but its schools are packed with engaging learning and social spaces. After seeing individualized classrooms, students utilize a state-of-the-art recording studio with professional-grade equipment, mixed-media art studio, science lab, two Homework Café® spaces and much more.

Fusion teachers personalize instruction for student strengths, interests, and learning preferences. Schedules are also customized so students take classes at a time of day that works best for them. Athletes, actors, and students with extracurricular passions can schedule school around their life instead of the other way around. Other students who attend Fusion include gifted or accelerated students, students with mild learning differences, or anyone looking for a more personalized learning environment.

“Our space is open and inviting. Our environment plays an integral role in making students feel comfortable and we cannot wait to share our campus with the community,” Bivol said.
