Caitlin Hallstrom

Caitlin earned a Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in Creative Writing from the University of Texas at Arlington. In college, she was the President of the National Society for Leadership and Success and, in 2017, traveled abroad throughout the UK (living primarily in London) where she studied William Shakespeare, Jane Austen, and JRR Tolkien.

Before coming to Fusion, Caitlin was a tutor at UT Arlington’s Writing Center. Near the end of her two and a half years of tutoring for UTA, she received Tutor of the Year from the English Department. After graduating from college, Caitlin moved to the Plano area, working as an editor before switching back into the tutoring field at the end of 2018. During her time as an editor, she had a non-fiction essay and a short story published in Texas Emerging Writers anthologies and plans to continue submitting her work for publication.

In August 2018, Caitlin married her husband, and they now live happily in Plano with their cat, Charlie (named for Charlie Chaplin). In her free time, Caitlin loves to play RPG video games, like Mass Effect and Dragon Age, read every book she can get her hands on, play Dungeons and Dragons with her husband and friends, and write novels, short stories, and essays. She also hopes to travel more in the future, seeing as many countries as she can and returning to her home-away-from-home, England, but this time with her husband.

Caitlin is thrilled to be a teacher/mentor at Fusion Academy and cannot wait to instill the love of learning, reading, and being a shameless nerd in her students.
