EVENT - Lunch n’ Learn: Empowering Kids who Learn differently
5/3/2017 11:30 am – 12:30 pm | Campus Events
Let us tell you a short story: There was a young boy named Kevin. He was small for his grade level with unruly curly brown hair and a toothy grin. At home Kevin was a happy kid who was always smiling. He loved movies that took place in Space and screamed “LIFTOFF!” when he jumped into swimming pools with his friends. Unfortunately, as soon as he got to school he felt like he wasn’t ‘okay.’ Other kids in his class were always much quicker at putting their hands up and answering the teacher’s questions, and Kevin felt like he wasn’t smart. One day, his teacher took the extra time to work with him one on one, checking in with him on a personal level and answering all of his questions in a way he understood. Kevin slowly began to realize that he had been ‘a okay’ all along, he just needed to learn in a different way…
Join us for lunch and a discussion on how to inspire kids who learn differently. Our Regional Vice President of New School Development, Dan Morgan, will share insight on how to work with students who learn and process in different ways. With Dan’s 20+ years of experience working in educational learning programs, he will discuss how important it is to find the right learning environment for their short and long-term success, sharing his own personal experiences with students and how they found success.
This is a great opportunity to learn more and connect with others who are interested in this important topic and share resources.Event Location:
