The Essence of Adolescence: Understanding and Connecting with Teens
Presented by Jenifer Balch, PhD, LPC-S, RPT-S, CAS
The brain does interesting things during adolescence! With so many changes happening at the same time, teenagers can often be and feel misunderstood. Come and learn about the unique changes that happen during this time so you can feel more prepared for interacting with the teenagers in your life. We will explore various ways you can increase communication and enhance your relationship with adolescents.

About the Speaker:
Jenifer Balch, PhD, LPC-S, RPT-S, CAS
Dr. Balch is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor in the state of Texas as well as a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor. She earned her Ph.D. in Counseling from the University of North Texas (UNT), where she specialized in play therapy. Dr. Balch has counseling experience with individuals, couples, families, and groups in a variety of settings, including community agencies, schools, and private practice. She has extensive training and experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and feels passionate about advocating for their mental health needs. Dr. Balch is credentialed as a Certified Autism Specialist and has published and conducted research in the field of ASD. In addition to direct counseling services, Dr. Balch enjoys staying actively involved in training future counselors. She works as an Adjunct Professor for the counseling program at Southern Methodist University and supervises LPC-Interns.Event Location:
