EVENT - Assessing and Intervening with ADHD vs. Auditory Processing vs. LDs: Differences and Overlaps

4/26/2017 6:00 pm – 07:30 pm | Campus Events

Many parents and teachers are familiar with the diagnosis of ADHD and Learning Disabilities. Hence, our focus, when assessing students and planning educational interventions, tends to rely on these two categories. The domain of audiology, auditory processing, and auditory attention is frequently overlooked. In doing so, we may be missing an important piece of the puzzle for the child’s academic success. The purpose of this presentation is to provide factual information about ADHD, LDs, and Auditory Processing/Attention so that parents and teachers can become more familiar with the signs, assessments tools and evaluations, and interventions related to each specific domain. The audience will have plenty of time for Q/A and discussion, and by the end of the presentation, be able to accurately pinpoint the overlaps and differences between ADHD, LDs, and Auditory Processing/Attention.
