Ashley started her education in Koenigstein, Germany, where she lived for 13 years. Placed in a German school system, Ashely grew up bilingual, but struggled greatly with dyslexia and being in a German speaking school. Luckily, she and her family moved to England in 2002 (her high school years), where Ashley was able to start the IB program as a guinea pig in a local school in England.
Having struggled with grades throughout her academia, Ashley never imagined going to College, let alone medical school to pursue her dream of becoming an orthopedic surgeon. Her passion and drive allowed Ashley to graduate from Ithaca College in December 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and graduate from St. George’s University with her MD.
During her last year of medicine, Ashley decided to take a different path in life and happiness became her goal. She took on a job at her favorite place on earth – her home rock climbing gym, The Rock Club, in New Rochelle, NY – and started managing it a year later. Meeting some amazing people, she was eventually introduced to Fusion Academy by Michelle Houlihan. It was love at first sight. Having struggled with school her whole life, she knew she wanted to work with Fusion to inspire and help others achieve their dreams that may seem as unattainable hers.
Optimism can take you anywhere!
