Visual Arts Teacher/Mentor
Kris Ward offers students the ability to express themselves through artistic creative outlets in the art studio. Her passion for teaching positivity and building self confidence is evident in her students work! Encouraging words, laughter, music and smiles are part of her daily routine at Fusion Academy!
She received her BA in Education and Fine Art from Fairleigh Dickinson University many moons ago followed by countless art classes, workshops and educational programs. She has presented several times at the NJAEA conference and twice at the national level to share her enthusiasm with the masses!
Kris was the Director of Fine Arts at Far Hills Country Day School for 34 years before joining Fusion Academy. She also works at St. Luke’s University Hospital Network bringing art to cancer patients in infusion centers. Volunteering has always been a part of her life, bringing art classes to women in recovery centers and supplying children in local SAFE houses with handmade cuddly pillows she designed, called WINKS. When not teaching, Kris can be found helping friends with DIY projects, taking exercise classes in the pool and walking her amazing puppy, Gracie.
Included in Kris’s dreams of the future is living ON the water in a floating home! A recent trip to Sausalito, Ca confirmed the passion to join one of these artsy communities!
