Coley Shuron

ASL Teacher/Mentor

Coley Shuron is so excited to join the Morristown team as our American Sign Language Teacher/Mentor! Coley was born in Florida, raised here in Jersey, and attended school down in Maryland! She earned her B.S. in Deaf Studies from Towson University, located right outside the heart of Baltimore. Coley is very passionate about the beauty of the visual language of ASL, and the culture of the Deaf community. She is incredibly excited to share not only the language of sign, but the gorgeous culture, literature, artwork, and lifestyle of the Deaf community!

Coley has spent many internship and volunteer hours working with a population of Deaf adults who were also experiencing mental health issues, substance abuse, and homelessness. Coley also has experience working with Occupational Therapists (both at a school for the Deaf, and a school for children with developmental disabilities). This experience working one-on-one to help teach and improve vocational and life skills serves as an amazing foundation for her role here at Fusion Academy! Working as a case worker, an interpreter, and a public high school ASL teacher have prepared Coley to connect with and thrive in the Morristown Fusion Family!

In her free time, you can catch Coley keeping busy outside! She enjoys hiking and traveling to new places, going to the beach and sun-bathing, practicing yoga and riding around on her beach cruiser! She takes advantage of her close proximity to the Big Apple, spending time in the city at any opportunity! Coley is an art-fiend, she loves spending her weekends watching live music, visiting galleries and museums, and working on creations of her own. Her all-time favorite activity? A nice, challenging game of chess!
