Caitlyn Pezza

Director of Admissions and Outreach

Caitlyn began working for Fusion as a member of the original teaching staff when we first opened on the East Coast in Manhattan during the 2012-2013 school year. She served on the Park Avenue team as teacher, mentor, English Department Head, Assistant Director, and Director of Admissions and Outreach before joining the Montclair team this summer. Prior to Fusion, Caitlyn gained experience in both public and private schools as an English and writing instructor working with students from 2nd to 12th grade. She is very passionate about reaching students through creative outlets and integrating mindfulness practices in the classroom. She brings her little therapy dog, Merlyn, with her everywhere to brighten others’ days.

Caitlyn earned bachelor’s degrees in both advertising and English from Florida State University, a Master’s of Fine Arts in Poetry from The New School, and a Master’s of Education from The City University of New York. Caitlyn’s poetry has appeared in The Best American Poetry, The Southeast Review, Able Muse, Espresso Ink and others.

At Fusion, Caitlyn loves working closely with families to help guide and navigate them through the school admissions process. She also connects with other professionals in the community, attends workshops and conferences to learn about and provide resources to our staff, families, and other related professional organizations. Her goal to revolutionize and create positive change in education serves as her driving force.

Born and raised in Florida, Caitlyn loves the ocean, fishing and swimming. As a butterflyer, and distance freestyler, she swam competitively for 15 years, and continues practice on a master’s team. When she is not working, she loves to garden, cook, and relax at her home in Maplewood.
