Scott Hough

Scott is an English and History Teacher/Mentor at Fusion Academy Mission Viejo. As an ardent believer in every student’s ability to learn, Scott embraces the opportunity to develop students’ cultural and historical literacy while building a foundation for empathy, curiosity, and confidence. He feels privileged to guide students on their way to sharpening their critical thinking, communication skills, and orientation within an increasingly connected global community.

Scott studied history and international relations at the University of Washington and earned his M.A. in History from Boston University. He spent the last seven years exploring the world as an educator, teaching history and English to students of all ages in Germany, Hungary, Japan, and Russia. A few highlights from this time were creating a Japanese language club at a high school in a small town in Hungary, training with the baseball team at a junior high school in Japan, and creating a public lecture series on American history and culture in Moscow.

When he is not teaching, you can often find Scott reading, struggling with his Russian language practice, or on a road trip with his wife. He also enjoys sports, genealogical research, and playing music.
