Cinthya Medina Bakker, JD

Interim Head of School

Cinthya first joined Fusion in April 2011 as one of the first teachers at Fusion Academy Warner Center. While at Warner Center, Cinthya was Head of the Math Department and helped establish best practices in grading policies. In 2013, Cinthya left Warner Center to join Fusion Academy San Francisco where she eventually took on the role of Director of Student Development. Most recently, she transitioned to the East Coast and has joined Fusion Englewood as Director of Student Development and Interim Master Teacher.

Before Joining Fusion, Cinthya earned a Bachelor’s from the University of San Francisco, a Juris Doctor from Saint Louis University School of Law, passed the California Bar Exam and worked briefly with non-profit legal organizations in Saint Louis and San Antonio. Cinthya also worked as a Calculus Supplemental Instructor and math tutor throughout her time in undergrad and law school. In these roles, she developed a passion for working with students, for teaching them, and for helping them plan to reach their goals.

During her free time, Cinthya enjoys running, reading, and exploring. She has completed several Half Marathons including Disneyland and Disneyworld; and one full marathon in San Francisco with more to come. She’s just as big a fan of other marathons too: Start Wars, Harry Potter; Doctor Who. In 2014, she tackled Half Dome in Yosemite and hopes to explore the Appalachian Trail now that she’s on the East Coast. She’s always up for a baseball game too. Go Card!
