Humanities, History & Spanish Teacher/Mentor
Born and raised in New York City, Amanda graduated from St. John’s University and went on to complete a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice from Colorado Technical University. During her time tutoring and working as a Lego robotics instructor she discovered her passion for working with middle school and high school students. She loves getting students excited about learning whether it’s through an art project, organizing a scavenger hunt related to themes from the latest book from English class, a role-playing game in history class, or teaching science by analyzing superhero powers. Before coming to Fusion, Amanda worked as a teaching artist and most recently, as a museum educator.
When she doesn't have her head buried in a book, you can find her working on an arts and crafts/DIY project, baking, or exploring museums throughout the city.
