Brooks is a Chicagoan by birth and a math teacher by training. He earned a BA in Honors Math & English from Notre Dame, and completed his graduate education at UCLA studying number theory, where he had the opportunity to take classes with the renowned mathematician Terry Tao. Brooks has several years’ experience teaching and tutoring mathematics to students of all ages, from 5th graders working on fractions to adults preparing for their GRE, and has also worked designing curricula for various education centers in the past. In his spare time, Brooks can be found hanging out in coffee shops, bookstores, music venues, and art galleries; distance running; and spending time with his growing family. He enjoys reading and writing, and is working on a novel about college life.
