They’ll cover timelines, helpful tips, guidelines, and general advice for your student as well as go over specific advice for students with learning disabilities.

Sherri Maxman, aka “The College Maven,” is a New York City-based independent educational consultant with a specialty in working with college-bound students with learning disabilities. She is an associate member of the Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA), a member of the New York State Association of College Admissions Counselors (NYSACAC), and a member of the Learning Disabilities Association of America. She is a graduate of IECA’s Summer Training Institute and is a candidate for a certificate in Independent Educational Consulting from the University of California at Irvine. She has visited nearly 200 college campuses around the country and regularly meets with Disability Services and Academic Support Services personnel at these colleges. She frequently speaks to parent groups about LD and the college application process and has worked with students across the US as well as internationally.
Franca Rawitz, founder of ReadySetCollegeNYC, has been successfully guiding students on their college journey for the past 10 years. Through personalized guidance and continuous support, Franca empowers students to take control of their journey and to achieve success in a sensible and strategic way. Partnering closely with families, she allays parent concerns and student anxieties by organizing and overseeing the process and tempering expectations.
