Pre-Algebra

Pre-Algebra is the final course in preparation for Algebra 1. The content present in the course covers five main areas of mathematics: the number system, expressions and equations, functions, geometry, and statistics and probability. Students extend their fundamental knowledge of algebra to include the concept of a function (linear vs. nonlinear). They use this concept to explore fitting lines to bivariate data and use interpolation and extrapolation to make predictions about data trends. Students also expand their knowledge of geometry to include concepts of congruence and similarity in relation to two-dimensional figures.
