Students will learn the basics behind core ideas in the physical sciences – physics, chemistry, astronomy, and life sciences. The performance expectations blend the core ideas with scientific and engineering practices and crosscutting concepts to support students in developing usable knowledge to explain real world phenomena, master scientific practices, and develop skill sets that are transferable into future studies. This includes planning and conducting experiments, computational and mathematical thinking, developing models, and critiquing arguments. Students should be able to provide explanations about nature, predict the consequences of actions, and logically conduct scientific studies.
