This course encourages students to explore all facets of Texas history, from early explorers to present-day. Students will learn about the variety of people who have helped to shape the state of Texas. The course will examine how the land and the people adapted and changed through Revolution, Republic, Statehood, Civil War, Reconstruction and new Constitution. Students will explore how Texas became a modern state with resource management, political expansion, and population growth, both through immigration and migration. Throughout the course, students will have an opportunity to practice critical thinking and gather historical evidence to support their claims.
