Math 6

Math 6 is the first of three courses in an integrated middle school mathematics sequence. The content present in the course covers five main areas of mathematics: ratios and proportional reasoning, the number system, expressions and equations, geometry, and statistics. Students begin to extend their knowledge of arithmetic with whole numbers to numbers including fractions and decimals. They also explore the fundamental aspects of algebra involving the concept of a variable and solving one-step equations, especially in the context of real-world applications. Students will delve further into concepts involving the coordinate plane in relation to area of two-dimensional figures.
