In Algebra 2 with Trigonometry Honors, students will learn how to compare commonalities among families of functions, including Linear, Quadratic, Polynomial, Radical, Exponential, Logarithmic, Rational and Trigonometric Functions. Students will also be expected to solve algebraic equations and systems represented by all of these functions. Introductions to new topics like complex numbers, trigonometric identities, as well as the various properties of different types of graphs. Students will also learn about how to properly work with a set of data to draw conclusions using statistics and represent their findings graphically. Students will also work with matrices to conduct algebraic representations and use trigonometric laws to solve for missing parts of a triangle. . This course is designed to prepare a student for Pre-Calculus. While memorization is not required, honors students are expected to gain fluency with the formulas and identities to solve complication equations and apply to real world situations.
