Jessica is our Homework Café teacher. She helps our students stay on top of their assignments and provides help when needed. Jessica has a bachelor’s degree from Augustana College in Rock Island, Ill. and two master’s degrees (MFA and MA) from McNeese State University in Lake Charles, La. She recently moved back to the area from Louisiana, mostly because she missed Culver’s. Jessica a mom of three kids—two teenage sons and a pre-teen daughter—that keep her on her toes and makes meal times look like a feeding at Jurassic Park.
Jessica is a published poet and writer, as well as a journalist. She’s been a college professor, newspaper reporter, saleswoman, editor, and office manager. She’s done some pretty strange things in life, like star in a regional commercial, be the subject of an NPR story, and play a game on the old Bozo Show in Chicago. She’s originally from Hoffman Estates, but lived in Wisconsin Dells for 14, so she’s more than happy to talk waterslides and go-karts with people. Her superficial life goals are to appear on Jeopardy, create something that will go viral on the internet, and teach her children how to do a sinkful of dishes without being asked.
