Fusion Lake Forest
Invites You to Attend Our

Community Education Night:
"The Power of Service Learning" with SaLT

From an article found in the publication "Education Leadership", service comes in many different forms, including community service (volunteering to clean up a park, promoting literacy for people in the neighborhood, or working in a food bank) and social activism (writing letters to the editor, organizing rallies, or holding debate forums). But service learning is more than just service because it integrates these activities into curriculum content. Our speakers, Brad Swanson and Ida Fiore will explain the guiding principles embedded within service projects they have designed for students : respect and learn, then serve; communicate love; this is it; unplug; be flexible; little by little; and bring it home.
