Caryn teaches middle school and high school science classes at Fusion DC.  She graduated with a BS in Biology (and a minor in Chemistry) from Wheaton College, and an MS in Entomology (insects!) from the University of Massachusetts.  She also holds teacher certification for science education grades 4-12 in both Maryland and Texas. Caryn has taught in a variety of schools, from a private school in Vienna, Austria, to public middle school and a community college in San Antonio, Texas to long-term substitute teaching at an elementary school run by the Department of Defense in Japan.

Caryn enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, exploring the outdoors, working in her community garden plot, baking and preserving food, and reading mysteries.  She is currently spending her free time training a very enthusiastic puppy to be a working dog.
