Kiera Fuller is a teacher and mentor in math and science at the middle and high school levels. Kiera attended UC Berkeley from 2010 to 2014, double majoring in Physics and Astrophysics and volunteering in research labs where she identified new supernovae and helped build a telescope to study the early universe. She went on to a graduate program at UCLA where she received her Master’s degree in Astronomy in 2017 while working on research in dark matter and high energy astrophysics.
While a graduate student, Kiera had her first opportunity to teach and soon realized she had discovered a new joy. She especially enjoyed any opportunities to engage a student one-on-one and find out what about the natural world makes them curious and motivated to learn.
In her free time Kiera likes reading science fiction and fantasy books, crocheting, crafting, dyeing her hair, and playing with her cat, Claudia. Recently she’s been learning to bake and attempting to take care of her houseplants.
