California State University Northridge, B.A. American Literature
California State University Northridge, M.A. English Literature

Babak Movahed is thrilled to be teaching and mentoring students on the fundamentals of language arts. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in American literature from California State University Northridge with magna cum laude honors. Immediately after receiving his BA, he began his pursuit of a Master’s degree in English literature. After two years, he received his MA, and finished as one of the youngest graduates in his class. Babak has developed a broad base of teaching experience by working for various institutions, and teaching students at various grade levels. He began by creating reading comprehension curriculum for struggling 5th graders. He was later hired by two reputable tutoring agencies as a private tutor. It was in these positions that Babak noticed the dramatic impact one-on-one lessons provide, the very observation that attracted him to Fusion Academy. Babak also spent time teaching a college level composition lab while pursuing his Master’s Degree. On his free time he enjoys creating mixed media sculptures, and reading books from his vast library. He also loves everything about basketball! Although, it has become increasingly difficult for him to enjoy watching it considering his favorite team, the Lakers, are pretty terrible.

Hobbies: Playing basketball, reading, and going to art museums
