A Dutch American, Babette grew up in the Netherlands, graduated from Utrecht University with a degree in French, and studied creative writing in London before moving to California.

Her teaching incorporates this training in mindfulness, holistic mind/body connection, narrative medicine, and trauma informed yoga.

Prior to joining Fusion Walnut Creek, Babette taught at our Marin campus, and was delighted to return to the Fusion community. She has been a journalist in newspaper and magazine journalism, in-house and freelance. Babette has also worked in book publishing, served as an editorial member of the team at HarperCollins, and written audio scripts for Calm and Spotify.
