Megan Maher

Associate Head of School

Dr. Megan Maher is an educational leader with over twenty years of experience in public and independent schools spanning five countries and four continents. Having enjoyed the change to move between Principal and Curricular roles in various schools, she is a champion of building positive and inclusive community cultures that challenge all learners to achieve at high levels. She received her PhD researching how international school leaders identify and build community cultures. Megan started her career as a Spanish immersion teacher in Fairfax County public schools. In addition to teaching at the International School of Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia and at Flint Hill School in Oakton, VA, Megan has served in curricular and divisional leadership positions in Paraguay (American School of Asuncion), Brazil (Pan American School of Bahia), and the United States. In her most recent roles, she was the Middle School Principal at Lincoln Community School in Accra, Ghana and another Lincoln School in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Megan enjoys experimenting in the kitchen, trying new spices, and - of course - taste-testing everything! She loves to explore by walking and can often be found on the paths along the Potomac River. Megan believes that music and art help to create community culture and soothe the soul. She tries to include these moments throughout her personal and work day.
