Delia De La Fuente

Math/Science/Virtual Homework Cafe Teacher & Mentor

Delia was born in Houston, Texas and lived in La Porte, Texas all her life until 2016 when she moved to Huntsville, Texas for University. She attended Sam Houston State University and pursued a Bachelors of Science in Biology with a minor in Spanish. Delia was inducted into the National Honor Society of Leadership and Success her sophomore year. She was also induced into the SIGMA DELTA PI National Spanish Honor Society her junior year and, during her senior year, studied ferns and their reproduction patterns with a professor on campus. This sprouted her love for plants! Delia has a large collection of succulents, cacti, and ferns. While in University Delia loved learning about forensics, forensic entomology, and zoology. Her love for forensics started in high school when she studied serial killers and decomposition stages of animals. Delia found it amazing that the evidence could tell you so much if you knew how to read it.

Delia loves children and volunteered at Texas Children’s Hospital in The Woodlands for about 3 years. She volunteered in several parts of the hospital, including the Surgery Unit, ER, and the Acute Care Playroom. She helped distract kids from their illnesses and put a smile on their face.

In her free time Delia loves to bake, crochet, craft, travel, enjoy the outdoors, play with her dog, and watch Netflix. Some of her favorite shows include Criminal Minds, Forensic Files, and Greys Anatomy.
