McClenny Benson

History, English and Film Studies Teacher/Mentor

Born and raised in Birmingham, AL, McClenny has always had a passion for teaching. She graduated from Washington and Lee University with a Bachelor’s in Classics and Theatre. Through teaching History and English, she loves igniting her students’ passions for discovery and exploration.

During her time at college, McClenny took part in a variety of organizations and activities that she continues to adore. These ranged from their internationally renowned choir to excavations on their campus. Additionally, she served as a liaison between peers and diverse campus groups and resources to encourage free expression and engagement in communities. Some of her favorite works have been translating Homer’s Odyssey as well as a short film she wrote and directed herself.

In her spare time, McClenny is voracious reader, traveler, and artist.
