Homework Cafe Teacher/Mentor
Ever since the age of six, Jessica has known that she wanted to work in education. In her later adolescent years, she began to develop a strong passion for health and wellness as she began to realize the benefits of taking care of oneself firsthand. Observing lifestyle-related illness in both friends and family inspired her to become an advocate for preventative health and behavior change.
Jessica took this passion with her to the University of North Texas to earn a Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion and Health Education. Shortly thereafter, she earned her 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher certification, and has been teaching for six years.
Modeling healthy habits, empowering individuals to advocate and take action in the name of their physical and mental health, as well as studying the science of behavior change are Jessica's core passions. Working at Fusion Academy has become her absolute favorite - she can inspire our youth to become leaders and models of what it means to really thrive and take care of ourselves, so we can take care of others.
