Gabriela began working with Fusion in March of 2016 as a Math & Science Teacher, but has been teaching science in schools and environmental organizations for over 17 years. She’s originally from the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains in rural upstate New York. Growing up there, she spent a lot of time outdoors, developing her passion for nature. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, with minors in Chemistry and Coaching, from the State University of New York at Brockport. During her college career, she was an accomplished student-athlete, earning All-American honors. She has a passion for food and sustainability, and this spark drove her to earn her chef certificate from the Natural Gourmet Institute in Manhattan.
When she’s not on campus working with students and teachers, you’ll find her traveling the globe, exploring nature, or at a local market looking for the next delicious thing to cook up for dinner.
