Jake Waiczis is an English and History teacher who specializes in composition and graphic novel analysis, whose favorite historical focus is World War II. You would contact Jake if you needed help with any level of English, ESL, or world History.
Jake was a first generation College student, who earned an Associate’s Degree in Arts and Humanities from Chabot Community College, as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Linguistics and a Master’s Degree in Teaching English as a Second Language, both from Cal State East Bay.
Jake started his career teaching as a student tutor at Chabot College, where he earned the tutor of the year award. During summers, Jake teaches chess as part of a summer program in Sunnyvale. Jake has taught at both the College and High school levels, and utilizes needs analyses as part of a dynamic way to track and incentivize student progress.
Jake is an avid outdoors-man and can be found fishing and hiking in any number of East bay regional parks, or camping at many places in Northern and Central California. Jake has been happily married to his wife for two years, and is expecting his first grandchild in April. When Jake is not enjoying the outdoors, he and his wife are spending time at Disneyland.
