Rebecca Taggart has been a math and science teacher at Fusion Academy San Francisco for the past 8 years. She has a B.A. in Chemistry from Colorado College and an M.S. in Analytical Chemistry from Drexel University, and spent a year as a Fulbright scholar in Germany studying trans-boundary air pollution. She worked as an air pollution expert at the EPA, followed by 7 years as a U.S. diplomat.
Rebecca came late to teaching, which she says is the most meaningful work she has ever done. She is grateful for the gift of working with students one-on-one and providing adaptive learning strategies so every student can reach their full potential. She especially likes hands-on chemistry and biology labs and practical math problems that offer students the chance to see academics function in the real world.
In her spare time Rebecca loves to garden, hike, sail and read, as well as practice and teach Iyengar yoga. She has two grown daughters, and understands both the parent and teacher perspectives on students.
