Olivia Streett

Humanities Teacher/Mentor

An avid reader and self-proclaimed comic, Olivia joins Fusion as the new Humanities teacher/mentor. Olivia originally hails from Bel Air, Maryland.  Before moving to Raleigh, she lived in Roanoke, Virginia where she fell in love with hiking!

Olivia graduated from Roanoke College in 2019, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in German Language.  She spent her four years frequenting the German, English, and history departments in order to explore her love of different cultures and creative expression.  In her final year, her interest in history and language enabled her to become a Gilman Scholar.  Through this a program, she was able to conduct independent research while living abroad in Leipzig, Germany.  Some of her favorite research projects have centered on topics relating to German colonialism, specifically in colonial Tanzania. Over the past few years, she has worked as a private tutor to a wide range of learners in the subjects of English, German, history, government, and GED test prep.

Outside of class, Olivia balances her love of the outdoors with her love of film, music, and reading.  Her love of history pairs nicely with her love of pop culture.  She enjoys discovering new authors and would love to help you find your next favorite book!
