Dean Morton

Humanities Teacher/Mentor

Dean Morton received his B.A. in History from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.  In May 2020 he will receive his Master's of Liberal Arts and Sciences from the University of North Carolina Asheville.  During his graduate schooling, he has worked as an After-school Associate at a Charter School in Asheville.

Dean teaches primarily English and History courses.  He is particularly passionate about literature and modern U.S. History.   Dean's ambition as a teacher is to change the perception of education as it presently exists.  Rather than being dull or tedious, he believes that passionate, thoughtful education can change a student's life.  He knows that good education begins with passionate teachers, and he's eager to do his part.

Dean keeps himself busy as an fiction writer and playwright.  His short stories and plays have appeared in various journals and books through North America.  His one-act play "Wolves in Yellowstone" was performed in the 2019 Festival of One Act Plays at the New American Theatre in Los Angeles.
