Stephen McLaughlin teaches science, math, and engineering courses. He earned a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Brigham Young University, where his dissertation lead him through optics, holography, and neuroscience. While there, his experience included teaching several courses at a nearby university, teaching programming to junior students, and mentoring undergraduate students in his research lab. In his spare time, Stephen likes to test out a wide variety of hobbies such as animation, video editing, game design, writing, machine learning, and cooking, though he remains somewhat amateurish in most of these. When not working or hobbying, he likes to spend time annoying his lovely wife, Hannah, who is a graduate student at Princeton University. While not readily apparent to the casual observer, Stephen used to belong to swim water polo teams in his younger days.
