Special Education Lead/ Teacher
Ilana is the Special Education Lead and a teacher/mentor at Fusion Academy Princeton. Ilana earned her B.A. in Psychology from Rutgers University: New Brunswick with a focus in neuroscience. She then earned her M.A. in Child Development from The University of Haifa in Israel. She has been published in Behavioral Brain Research (2020), and while at The University of Haifa, Ilana created a research proposal featuring The Effects of Music Therapy on the Resilience of Pediatric Cancer Patients.
Ilana has worked with both typically developing children and neurodiverse children in either volunteer, recreational, or educational settings since 2013, including working at Daisy Recreation in East Brunswick, volunteering at Riccio Pick Me Ups, and visiting at-risk youth in Israel. Ilana has always been involved in music and the arts, implementing these in her work as much as possible. Growing up, Ilana was trained in musical theater and acting. She also loves Halloween and has been a ghoul at Fright Fest at Six Flags. A little known fact about her is that she was famous in Paraguay for one week following the televised reunion between her and her biological mother.
